Community season three premiered on the 22nd of September 2011. The series is part of the Comedy Night Done Right programming. In the first episode of the season, the study group decides to take a Biology class together. However, Pierce faces problems, since the class only has six seats. Jeff is removed from the class after making enemies with the professor. Dean Pelton soon becomes rivals with the dean of the renowned Air conditioning Repair Annex, Vice Dean Laybourne. Britta goes head to head with Chang, the campus security officer. Meanwhile, Annie is introduced to a new frenemy by a Model UN competition.

Abed and Troy’s housewarming party turns into a post-modern world with different and contradicting realities. Britta has each of the gang members tell a scary story. This is to determine the sociopath or odd man out of the group. Chang savors his imaginary character of noir detective as the gang pairs off to build a terrarium. Pierce throws a party to celebrate his success in business, and he is extremely excited about the same. However, the excitement turns into something else when his elderly father arrives. Ann tries to move in with Troy, and Abed and the group is helping her. However, she becomes extremely frustrated with their lifestyle. Meanwhile, Dean Pelton blackmails Jeff into spending time with him in the afternoon. When the glee club is not able to attend the holiday pageant, the study group is asked to fill in by Greendale’s choir director. The school board asks Dean Pelton to film a new commercial for Greendale. However, all the activities filmed by Abed are for a documentary. Meanwhile, Shirley and Jeff spend time playing football together. Anne covers up breaking Abed’s special DVD edition of The Dark Knight, by staging a robbery.
